  1. Fair play Malta, pretty similar team to last time but we've definitely been short of consistency in the squad that's turned out this year. We knew Valleyfield would come at us and expect to win, but that's why we set up as we did. Note that it took a penalty for them to equalise and we could have even nicked another one on the break ourselves. They rarely got in behind, even if they dominated possession. Just happy to see our game plan working and we didn't lie down as everybody might have expected. Dody, we were resigned to that fate long ago. Today was a separate challenge and we did what we set out to do. Get it up you
  2. "Uni 2 valleyfield 6. good 3 points the day against a ordinary side valleyfield strolled the game … we never needed to get out of 1st gear. training session for us against a team full of shit. look at the league table. I think that says it all. Cant wait for the uni coming to valleyfield I will have a team for when yous visit valleyfield.wonder how many of yous will turn up. i bet half yous will be away visiting mummy and daddy that weekend." I would just like to refer Dody to the above comments from the 12th March after today's return fixture. The same team full of shite most certainly turned up today. And weren't visiting mummy and daddy. And weren't put off by the "team" that you promised to bring along. We had one thing on our mind, despite not having too much to play for - to use the comments from last time as fuel to dig in, fight, kick, hack, do whatever it took to put a dent in your title challenge. I hope the Valleyfield players, who threw everything at us, look back at Dody's comments and thank him for that. You told us to look at the league table. I will be looking at the top of the league table at the end of the season. And I might look back on today with a wry smile. Choo choo
  3. Another decent performance from the Uni, deserved 1-0 lead at half time. HoB more like themselves in the 2nd half and got their equaliser but, as is becoming a bit of a theme, a harsh penalty decision went against us and they won in the last minute. That's now 8 penalties conceded in the last 8 games. As I've said before, it seems much easier for refs to give big decisions against the students, less intimidating characters etc. Just as when players mouth "get tae man" in their finest Fife accent at a referreing decision, nobody notices, but a Londoner says "what the " and goes straight in the book. Consistency please!
  4. Enjoyed today's game against Denbeath, a good side who played a lot of good football. But it was one of our better performances and a game we could have got something from if we'd made better decisions in the final third. They scored on the break after our best spell in the first half and though they shaded the 2nd half, it took a penalty to seal their win. A pen which the ref reckons he had a clear view of from his position on the half way line. Denbeath deserved their win overall but I get the feeling refs find it much easier to give big decisions against us than many others.
  5. Aye our boys are always welcome back at their mummy and daddy's home Dody I'm sure. Yours must have got you out the road as soon as they could
  6. A very fair assessment, Carson. Sense at last.
  7. We, of coarse, wish the guy all the very best in his recovery. At least you managed to get a team together for this trip eh Dody, unlike last time. What about some of the behaviour on the sideline in front of your own bairns though. Set of classless minks
  8. You may have noticed the left back, a subsitute, was taken off not long after. He then apologized to his victim and this was accepted. 6-2 flattered Valleyfield, helped by two dodgy penalties, and they are far from the best team we've played this year. And their number 12 is no wantin empire biscuits and looks like his maw still wipes his arse for him
  9. Uni 0-0 Denbeath Quite a good game considering it finished 0-0. Denbeath a good side and had a good few chances in the first half, but a fairly even second. Denbeath lads' reaction at the end suggests they thought we were supposed to roll over and let them win. Of course, we didn't. Enjoyed our extra food at the pub after your no show though, cheers lads 👍🏼 Sour sods
  10. It seems the Valleyfield train has broken down on its way to St Andrews. Unfortunately they are unable to field a team so the game will not go ahead
  11. St Andrews Ammies 0-2 St Andrews Uni Very satisfying result and performance the day in the derby from our new look side. Ammies gave us a good test but we pressed high and caused plenty of problems going forward, while looking pretty solid. Great hospitality back at The Rule.
  12. Well done Bobsy, an all round great guy. Refs the Uni most Wednesdays as well and dishes out some great chat. Wonder how his anger management classes are going. Last we heard he got kicked out for being too angry
  13. Ferencváros U21s 9-0 St Andrews Uni Great experience for our boys out in Budapest the day against a frighteningly good side, who have run away with the Hungarian u21 league this year and put a few first teamers in. Set up to keep them out and did so until just before half time. Great set up, decent level-headed lads to say they're professionals and obviously a very good club. Scorers: Craigie x3, Thud, Davey, Scoot x2, Andy, Wee Man
  14. Colleges 4-4 Strollers Good game, end to end. Disappointing from us to concede from three corners but great goal to equalise near the end. Followed by our boy taking his shirt off and the hopeless ref booking him, twice. One for taking his shirt off obviously and the other for "dissent earlier in the game". The guy is something else. All too keen to get his money and bugger off afterwards though. Not sure about his RFC tattoo on his earlobe either. Special mention to the number 8 in the Strollers midfield older than half of our guys' dads! Fantastic display
